The lighthouse at North Avenue beach, towards the northern part of Chicago, isn’t a famous tourist spot, but it offers one of the most beautiful views of the Windy City’s skyline. Chicago Water Tower
Chicago’s Water Tower might have been nothing but an old and common building in the city. However, it is a survivor of the biggest fire ever seen in an American city, which took place at the end of the 19th century. Made of wood, most of the city’s buildings were consumed by the flames – only the Water Tower resisted, because it was built of stone. It stands at the end of Michigan Avenue, in the center of Chicago.
