2022 was the year of the Explosion of Cultural Events in Brazil

After a long, critical period of global health, the world seems to be, little by little, going back to a state of normality. According to Aristotle, “man is a social being”, therefore humankind yearned to retake the liberty of living together in spaces common to everyone, and to feel that it is possible to dream again and to believe that life can be beautiful again. And, to validate this feeling of contemplating beauty, which is inherent to human nature, nothing is more comforting for the collective soul than to feed on every artistic expression within reach.

Unlike some countries that still practice different measures of sanitary control due to the remaining number of Covid-19 cases, Brazil, with over 80% of its population completely immunized by vaccination, has seen the pandemic recede from its most aggressive stage, and has experienced a real explosion of cultural events of every kind in the country.

The cultural agenda in Brazil’s most important cities was filled with fairs, musical presentations and unprecedented expositions, such as the “Beyond Van Gogh, an Immersive Experience” exposition and the presentation of the National Symphonic Orchestra in Rio de Janeiro’s Municipal Theater, commemorating a hundred years of Radio in Brazil. Besides the reopening of museums, theaters, cinemas and art galleries, the presentation of fairs, festivals and shows has brought Brazilians a glimpse of what may be our reality in a very near future, when we may all be together in collective events such as those.

São Paulo and Rio also offered mega events that had been postponed, such as Rock in Rio, Lollapalooza, Rio Oil and Gas and the International Book Biennial. These events had an audience bigger than expected and were marked by an atmosphere of reunion that showed the latent desire of a society to finally turn over that obscure page in our history.

FINK has a vast experience in the planning and logistics operation of large-sized events, including sportive ones, international artists’ shows, fairs and expositions, and this year was one of those responsible for the logistics operation of the Rio Oil and Gas in the port region of Rio.
