Sanctioned recently by the Federal Government to guarantee more efficiency and fewer costs for Brazilian aviation, the Simple Flight Law promises to contribute to updating old rules on the way to a modernization of the area. The new law promises that services performed by aviation will be less and less bureaucratic, offering a reduction in costs for the whole sector, besides being totally focused on delivering added value to the population with an air transport service that is more inclusive and universal. The new law understands that air services are economical activities in the public interest, and, because of this, it has been decided to facilitate the process of inclusion of new companies in Brazil, eliminating concessions and authorizations that are considered “unnecessary”.
According to ANAC, the initiative will permit improvement in the business ambiance, the attraction of investments and the reduction of costs for the sector and for the administration. Among the main changes brought by the law are:
▪ Facilitation for the entry of foreign companies.
▪ Simplification for the operation of new companies and construction of new airfields.
▪ Extinction of charges to concessionaires and reduction of prices for the user.
▪ A new Table of TFACs adequate to the reality of civil aviation and to the tax regulation in force.
