The Curitiba Biennial reaches its sixth edition in 2017, bringing Oriental art and culture to the capital of Paraná. The country honored this year was China: a nation that is becoming increasingly relevant internationally , and with thousands of years of history and culture. And, to best represent the vast Chinese artistic wealth, several exhibition centers in Curitiba are being used for the show, such as the Museu Oscar Niemeyer (MON), the Museu Municipal de Arte (MMA), the Iguaçu Palace and the Memorial de Curitiba.
However, the exhibitions are not restricted to the galleries. The city of Curitiba has also received a magnificent gift, which will certainly enrich the city’s cultural life: the inauguration of the Largo da China (China Square), a plaza that refers to and honors Chinese culture in its landscaping project. Moreover, the square’s main attraction will be a bronze statue of the Chinese philosopher, Confucius.
Therefore, it is easy to imagine that such an important event requires the utmost responsibility as to its organization. FINK transported most of the pieces on exhibition, which came not only from China, but also from museums in Italy and Hawaii, for example. In addition, pieces exhibited nationally, in the state of São Paulo and in other venues in the south of Brazil, were also brought to Curitiba.
The part that FINK played in mounting the Curitiba Biennial is a source of great pride to us – a challenge with such important variables that only a company like FINK could accomplish with such masterful proficiency.
